Final Rulebook is online

From Tjin van der Zant (@Home Exec):

Some highlight of the changes (also regarding last year):

  • The biggest change is that restart rule has changed. It is still allowed to do a restart, but the score does not reset. [...]
  • Regarding last year, the biggest change in the tests is in the 'follow me' test of stage 1. For example, there is human-robot interaction, and there is a part outside the scenario (living room/apartment).
  • Also in several tests the focus on gesture recognition has increased and it is to be expected that it will increase in the coming years.
  • The teams have to moderate themselves! So please have one person available who can moderate during a test.
  • Penalty for not providing a referee (500 points) and for not showing up for a test (also 500)
  • Score system adjusted for less teams (for example during an Open competition)
  • Supermarket test: only 3 objects (max) have to be manipulated
  • For the open challenge and the finals the focus is on demonstration (the robot doing something) and not on presentation (a team member doing something)
  • Who's who? There will be a standard set of English names available (about 10) that can be used in case of strange sounding names (like my own name...  ;-)   )
