The importance of cleaning bearings:
It is important to keep the bearings and lubrication clean.
Before checking, please clean the surface of the machine, and then disassemble the parts around the KOYO bearing. The oil seal is a very fragile part, so it needs to be disassembled carefully, do not use excessive force, and then carefully check the oil seal and its surrounding parts. If it shows bad symptoms, it must be replaced. Poor oil seals can cause damage to KOYO bearings and cause equipment downtime.
Check lubricant
Rub a little lubricant between two fingers. If there is contamination, you can feel it, or apply a thin layer of lubricant on the back of your hand, and then seal the lamp for inspection.
Change lubricant
After the old oil in the oil-lubricated bearings is drained, if possible, add fresh oil and allow the machine to rotate at low speed for a few minutes. The oil should collect the remaining contaminants as much as possible, and then drain the oil. It is best to filter the oil before use.
Grease-lubricated bearings should avoid contacting any part of the bearing with cotton when changing the grease, because these residual fibers may get stuck between the rolling parts and cause damage, especially in small bearing applications. Please be aware of this issue.
Cover exposed bearings
1. When checking the bearing, do not expose the bearing to pollutants or moisture. If work is interrupted, the machine should be covered with greased paper, plastic sheet or similar material.
2. If the unprotected bearing is cleaned without cleaning and can be inspected, please use a brush dipped in petroleum solvent to clean it, and then wipe it dry with a lint-free cloth or blow it dry with compressed air (be careful not to let it The bearing assembly is wiped dry). Start to rotate).
3. Use small mirrors and probes similar to those used by dentists to check the bearing track surface, retainer and magnetic beads. If the bearing is not damaged, it should be relubricated according to the lubrication instructions provided by the machine manufacturer.
4. Do not use the sealing cover or dust cover to clean the bearing; just wipe the outer surface.
If the KOYO bearing is damaged, it needs to be replaced. It is much more economical to replace bearings during regular shutdowns and maintenance than to stop suddenly due to bearing damage.
Three methods of KOYO bearing lubrication
1. Oil bath lubrication
Immerse the bearing part in lubricating oil. When the bearing is stationary, the oil level should not be higher than the center of the lowest moving body. This method is not suitable for high speeds, because the agitation of the oil causes a large amount of energy loss, which can lead to overheating of the oil and bearings.
2. Drip lubrication
Drip lubrication is suitable for bearing parts that require a fixed amount of oil. The amount of dripping oil should be properly controlled. 3. Splash lubrication
