Tantalum boride or tantalum diboride is a powdery gray color. The Tantalum Diboride has a pH of and is insoluble in nitric, hydrofluoric or acidic solutions. strong>Tantalum diboride is/strong> completely insoluble in acid, nitric acid and aqua regia. Crystal and TaB2 films have a Vickers Hardness around 30 GPa. These materials are resistant to acid corrosion and oxidation up to 700degC.
TaB2 shares the same hexagonal shape as most diborides. (Alb 2, MGB2,etc.) It also has space groups such as TAB (orthogonal, crystal system, iodized Cmcm ((I), TA5B6-Cmmm), and TA3B4-IMmm), or TAB2 (hexagonal type of aluminum diboride, P6/mm2).

How are Tantalum Boride TAB2 Powder manufactured?
Under vacuum or cylinder-gas protection, either the carbon and oxidizing loads and boron oxide mixture is made, or the powder is prepared through reaction with boron.
The floating zone method allows for the production of single crystals (about 1cm in diameter and about 6cm in length) of Tab2.
At temperatures over 600degC, TAB (single-phase), a mixture of Tacl-5-Bcl3 and H-2-Ar can be used to deposit a tantalum boride film.
Tab2 nanocrystals can be synthesized successfully by reducing NaBH4 to Ta 2O5 with a molecular ratio of 1:1 M:B under argon at 700-900degC.
